Stevens Institute of Technology programs, 1928-1930.

The collection consists primarily of programs that deal with the inauguration of the new Stevens Institute of Technology president, Harvey Nathaniel Davis in 1928. One is for the actual inauguration while the other two are for the dinner the previous night. Another program commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of the Institute in 1930. The collection also includes a typed speech delivered by Edwin A. Stevens IV presenting the telescope of Edwin A. Stevens (his grandfather) to the Institute's president Harvey Davis.

The Stevens Institute of Technology was founded in 1870 in Hoboken, New Jersey following the death of Edwin Stevens, who, in his will, donated the money to establish an engineering school that would bear the family name. Harvey Nathaniel Davis was inaugurated as Stevens Institute of Technology's third president in 1928.
